Dear Dominican Youth meeting in Caleruega, MABUHAY! It gives me great joy to think about all of your gathered together in Caleruega, Philippines for the International Meeting of the Dominican Youth Movement. Only three months ago, the Prioresses of the Dominican Sisters International met in Caleruega, Spain for their International Assembly. At that meeting, fr. Kike spoke to us about the importance of keeping our doors open to our youth. I want to assure you that we listened carefully to fr. Kike's words and promise to welcome you in our homes and our hearts. We are eager to hear the results of your discussions and await with enthusiasm your reflections on "WHO PREACHES, WHAT DOWE PREACH AND TO WHOM DO WE PREACH?" We know that our future as preachers is in your hands and so we want to hear from you and journey together with you as we strive to proclaim the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ in our world. It
is fitting that you meet in Caleruega, Philippines to grapple
with these questions. Caleruega was the place that raised up our
father and founder, Saint Dominic and the Philippines was the
site of the First International Meeting of the Dominican Family
in October, 2000. We pray that your gathering continues this fine
tradition of looking to Dominic and his Family for inspiration

DOMINICAS INTERNACIONALES Queridos Jóvenes Dominicos reunidos en Caleruega, MABUHAY! Me da mucha alegría pensar acerca de todos ustedes reunidos juntos en Caleruega, Filipinas por el Encuentro Internacional del Movimiento Juvenil Dominicano. Sólo hace tres meses, las Prioras de las Hermanas Dominicas Internacionales estaban reunidas en Caleruega, España celebrando su Asamblea Internacional. En este encuentro, fray Kike nos habló acerca de la importancia de mantener las puertas abiertas a nuestros jóvenes. Quiero asegurarles que escuchamos cuidadosamente las palabras de fray Kike y prometimos darles la bienvenida en nuestras casas y nuestros corazones. Estamos ansiosas de escuchar los resultados de sus debates y aguardamos con entusiasmo sus reflexiones sobre "QUIEN PREDICA, QUÉ PREDICAMOS Y A QUIÉN PREDICAMOS?" Sabemos que nuestro futuro como predicadores está en sus manos y además queremos escuchar de ustedes y juntos esforzarnos por proclamar la BUENA NUEVA de Jesucristo en nuestro mundo. Es apropiado que ustedes se encuentren en Caleruega, Filipinas para aferrarse con estas preguntas. Caleruega fue el lugar que irguió a nuestro Padre y Fundador, Santo Domingo y Filipinas fue el sitio del Primer Encuentro Internacional de la Familia Dominicana, en octubre del 2000. Oramos para que su reunión continúe esta bella tradición de mirar a Domingo y su Familia como inspiración y estímulo. Ustedes y su encuentro están en nuestras oraciones. IDYM es muy importante para nosotros, como Hermanas Dominicas, y queremos colaborar con ustedes en la predicación del Evangelio. Los vemos como parte vital de nuestra Familia Dominicana y queremos explorar caminos con ustedes para ampliar nuestra misión común de la predicación.
