Dear brothers and sisters of IDYM:
Receive hopeful greetings when we receive the good
news of the close arrival of the Emmanuel, God-With-Us. In this context, we
wish to share some good news with you as well: Next August 2009, we'll celebrate the "IDYM World Meeting" in
Fátima, Portugal from the 3rd to 9th.
The topic of the meeting will be:
Young
people searching and preaching
This world meeting is of an open character. Which means that all young
people above 18 can attend, even if they are not IDYM members.
We are expecting approximately 150 people to
attend. The estimated cost will be 250€ for U.S. and European attendees, and
150€ for the remaining.
The languages in which the meeting will be held include: English,
Spanish and Portuguese, with simultaneous translation in plenary sessions.
We wish the greatest number of participants possible. In order to organize logistics as best we
can, we need to know how many countries will be represented, and how many
individual participants intend to be present, before January 31st.
So, we ask you to please write to us with your information before that date.
An European visa is required to be admitted into Portugal, and so you
will need to undergo the process of acquiring one in your respective countries. Once you are enrolled in the meeting and your
registration formalized, we'll send to you an official letter of invitation.
Following the World Meeting, the "IDYM
Representatives Assembly" will take place from 9th to 13th.
The goals of this Assembly will be to:
evaluate the present course of IDYM;
to propose directions in which to go;
edit or change any statutes as needed;
and to elect a new International Commission and International Secretary.
According to the statutes, a maximum of two
people (one of which must be a lay person) from the countries where IDYM has
been officially recognized can attend the Representatives Assembly.
We'll send you more details as they arise later. Should you have any
questions or want any futher information, please don't hesitate to ask.
See you in Fátima!
